BILL KANDLER began his activities in segmented turning, almost by accident, as he read the user's manual for his first lathe in mid 2000. The manual contained a short section on segmented turnings. It looked interesting, he tried one, and was immediately hooked! All design work was initially performed using TurboCAD and then, when the drawings got so complicated as to cause errors, created his own software tool to aid in the design process. That was the start of the Segmented Project Planner, which is now in use by over 2000 persons in 32 countries. 

Since then, he authored the book, Segmented Turning... A Good Start and produced the "How-to DVD", Segmented Turning... A Learning Experience while continuing to develop and expand into new areas of segmented design and extending the features of his Project Planner to support those activities.
